About Us
Matthew: I was saved when I was 12 years old at home on a Saturday afternoon. I talked to my parents about Jesus and why do I need Him in my life. I realized at that moment that I am nothing and miserable without Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and Lord.
I surrendered to preach at 18 years old at Heartland Christian Camp. Bro. Larry Crouch preached the opening service. God used him to get my attention that I needed to give my life fully to God. After graduating from California State University of Fresno, California in 2011, I went to Fresno Missionary Baptist Institute and Seminary (now called Western Missionary Baptist Institute and Seminary) and went four years to study Bible languages. After I graduated FMBI in 2015 with a master’s degree in Theology, I met my wife while filling in the pulpit at Shafter Missionary Baptist Church later that year.
My wife and I had dated for a year before we were engaged for several months. We were married on August 5, 2017. We have been married for almost 8 years now coming August of 2025.
Youth and The Church of Today
We believe that our youth have the ability to change the world. We know that God made each of us unique, with different interests and as we grow, we learn and discover who we can be in Christ. We want to give fathers and mothers in Christ the tools necessary to encourage and disciple their children to salvation, baptism, the teachings of Jesus Christ and a complete involvement in the Lord’s Church. Our goal is to help our youth discover they are not to be the church of tomorrow, but they are to be the church of today.
YOUTH ACTIVITIES
PART OF GROWING UP IS LEARNING HOW TO WORSHIP, PRAY, WORK, PLAY, AND SHARE TOGETHER TO DEVELOP THE WHOLE PERSON; IN SPIRIT, MIND, AND BODY. YOUTH ACTIVITIES ARE A WAY WE CAN TAKE A BREAK FROM THE WORLD AND BE INVOLVED IN INITMATE AND PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS AND YOUTH BELOW ARE EXAMPLES OF OUR YOUTH ACTIVITIES.
