In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus said to his disciples: "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your
bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. (Luke 6:38 KJV)
In Ephesus, the Apostle Paul reminded the brethren there how Jesus said "it is more blessed to give than to receive." (Acts 20:38 KJV)
For the disciple of the Lord Jesus, giving is an obligation rather than an option, especially considering that our Lord Jesus gave his own life freely to purchase our salvation. Thus, we owe him everything!
Giving is divided into two parts: Tithes and Offerings. A tithe is by definition a tenth of all receipts, income or gain. In our cash-based economy, a tithe would be ten percent of gross income from all sources, before taxes and other deductions. An offering is of "free-will" and can be of any amount and frequency the donor desires.
Faith Missionary Baptist Church (FMBC) is engaged in the Gospel ministry through the ministries and missions described on the next page, which are supported solely by tithes and offerings. Here is an opportunity and an invitation to help support these with your gracious giving.
